Destiny 2 players will be getting some free crafting materials after a long-running bug gets hotfixed today.
Since the first week of Destiny 2’s Witch Queen launch, players have been running into trouble with a vendor, Master Rahool. Having taken over Spider’s duties with the Tangled Shore gone , he’s supposed to be selling use a variety of materials, including a weekly offering of Ascendant Alloy, a key weapon crafting material, for 400 legendary shards a week.
But, Rahool only sold it week one, and players have been unable to buy another since. Since the game only gives you two through quests, and you have to do higher level activities to land a third, many players have been unable to pay the three Alloy needed to get the Osteo Striga exotic catalyst. Well, that’s being fixed today, and Destiny players are getting at least one bonus Alloy as a reward, a buy one get one free situation.says that today’s hotfix will indeed fix the Alloy problem with Rahool, and there will be a one-time offer of getting two Alloy for 400 legendary shards instead of one. I’m not clear on if the fix today willactivate Rahool to be able to sell this week’s shard, or if we’ll have to wait for next Tuesday to claim this.
If the offer is live today, technically that will be all the Alloy that was missing since week one. Destiny is not generally a “give you lavish bonuses for your trouble” type of game, and this isn’t really that. It’s more or less just giving players a single free Alloy. But hey, it’s something.
