Millions of people across the UK will receive an Emergency Alert on their phones and tablets on Sunday.
The alert is part of a Government trial and will see devices emit a loud alarm and vibrate at 3pm on April 23, in a nationwide test of the new public alert system. A message will be received on 4G and 5G mobile phones, along with sound and vibration for up to 10 seconds and it's been advised that the alarm will sound even if the device is set on silent.Here's everything you need to know about the alert:Emergency Alerts is a UK government service that will warn you if there’s a danger to life nearby.
In an emergency, your mobile phone or tablet will receive an alert with advice about how to stay safe.What day and time will it take place?The alert will say: "This is a test of Emergency Alerts, a new UK government service that will warn you if there’s a life-threatening emergency nearby. In a real emergency, follow the instructions in the alert to keep yourself and others safe.
