Frankie Dettori stormed to the seventh and final Epsom Oaks win of his incredible career on Soul Sister
Team Gosden’s hope was a well-backed 11-4 shot for the Classic having bolted up in last month’s Musidora at York, and she delivered in style, staying on brilliantly to beat Savethelastdance and outsider Caernarfon.
Dettori said: “It means a lot, seven Oaks. Her owners the Bamford Family have been great supporters of mine, it’s my last year and it’s my second Classic. Unbelievable. They’re two great fillies, Coronation Cup winner Emily Upjohn and this one, I just want to soak it in now. It was a bit messy at the beginning, I didn’t want to go too wide, and then William Buick stopped very quickly on Eternal Hope but I kept her balanced and she did the rest.
