Eventually, the tweet above caught the attention of Blizzard president Mike Ybarra who stated:"This is not happening.
This is the second time Blizzard has had to come out and quash rumors about Diablo 4 joining Xbox Game Pass. With and millions of players venturing into Sanctuary, it wouldn't make sense for the developer to put the action-RPG into Game Pass. Perhaps we could see it join the service later on if Microsoft eventually acquires Activision Blizzard.
