A Man Utd fan is trying to claim that Arsenal need a trophy (nice try) while there is more chat about Harry Kane and legends. Send your mails on these or any other subjects to theeditorfootball365.com...
“Is there any “legend” who has never won a major trophy? Can my fellow mailbox find one?”, I’d argue yes, Stan Collymore never won a major trophy but was part of a Nottingham Forest that earnt promotion to the Premier League and was seen as a Forest legend for that, moved to Liverpool for an English record fee and for defining moments? how about the Match of the Decade when the Premier League celebrated it’s 10th anniversary, Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle.
I can only assume Aman that you’re a. about 17 years old and b. support a club that always wins. Legends are not legends because of trophies. What an impoverished understanding that would be. In 2018 I had the privilege of watching Messi at Wembley when he completely tore apart my beloved Spurs. We lost badly. Did I go home happy? I did actually. I had just watched someone put in a display I would remember for all time. Before Messi, the best player I had ever seen play was Paul Gascoigne. My late Dad and I would get to the ground early just to watch Gazza warm up. He was and always will be a legend to me. Did he win trophies? Well technically he won an FA Cup with Spurs.
