Currie describes the documentary as a love story, with the pair supporting each other through Charlie’s transition from female to male, Lauren’s OCD and emetophobia . “There is a woman in the documentary whose daughter is trans and had just worked up the confidence to go out of the house but now all this stuff in the media has made them feel they can’t because they are terrified someone is going to shout abuse at them.
“Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always honest, insightful and unique – this is a cross-generational look at what really makes a family in 2023.
