Michelle Walker and her family had just set up camp at Rannoch next to a loch when they realised one-year-old pup Bella appeared to be choking.
A dog has been injured after a fishing line got stuck in her throat at a Scots beauty spot, as her traumatised owner issued a plea for people to stop dumping fishing gear.
Michelle explained to the Record: "I was frantic as she was coughing up blood clots, there was blood coming from her mouth, and she was also trying to swallow the line down to get it out of her throat, which was just making her choke even more. "While my partner drove there, I've had to hold my dog's throat, to prevent her from swallowing. There was blood coming from everywhere. She kept throwing up what looked like streaks of flesh from her throat.
Speaking to the Record she added: "Luckily Bella is on the mend now but it was the worst night ever. The whole thing was petrifying and cost us nearly £500 for the emergency fees. "I hope this can raise some awareness for other dog walkers, campers, and young families who play in the water at the lochs."
