If Jim Jordan wants to run the country he should run for president, not Speaker of the House
The Democrats are united behind a president who is too old for a second term, at least in the eyes of about three-quarters of those responding to polls.
The leading contender in Wednesday’s vote was Jim Jordan of Ohio. But he lost by an even bigger margin than he did on Tuesday. According to CNN, Trump responded, “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are,” to which McCarthy responded, “Who the f--- do you think you’re talking to?”
But, like Trump’s effort to reverse the 2020 election, this was a plan with no planning. Getting McCarthy out took just five votes from Republicans. But getting his successor in will require 218.
