As the result of a plea agreement, she will pay a $6,000 fine, write a letter of apology to the state’s voters, and – devastating to Trump – testify at future trials against him and his alleged co-conspirators.
In fact, those frozen funds remain in restricted bank accounts in Qatar and Switzerland, specifically earmarked for food, medicines and other humanitarian supplies. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby says that “not a single dinar of those funds has gone into Iran” and insists the US government is watching the accounts like a hawk.
