After a New York jury found Donald Trump liable for both sexual abuse and defamation against E. Jean Carroll on Tuesday, both Democrats and Republicans expressed their thoughts on the verdict.

While the jury did not find the former president liable for rape, the jurors unanimously found Trump was responsible for a lesser degree of sexual assault and defamation. He was ordered to pay $5 million in damages to Carroll.Most elected officials have yet to comment on the jury's decision publicly, but a few Democrats have denounced the former president, while Republicans have had a varying reaction to the matter.
