When former Jersey guy 'Dr. Oz' made a campaign video in his run for a Pennsylvania Senate seat, he twice used a French term for a vegetable platter that seemed out of place in a state famous for its pretzels
I spent more than 10 years working for newspapers in and around Philadelphia. This gave me an insight into the culture of Pennsylvania that is sorely lacking in that TV doctor from Bergen County who is running for an open Senate seat there.
Dr. Oz feels differently. A campaign video of his recently went viral for two reasons. One is that it showed him shopping in a store he identified as “Wegner’s.” “If this looks like anything other than a veggie tray to you, then I am not your candidate,” said Fetterman, who wears a hoodie to show he’s the candidate of the working man – even though he’s got a degree from an Ivy League university, just like Oz does.

But the Republican in that race, former football star Herschel Walker, is almost as far behind in the polls as Oz is.
