The French midfielder loves Nottingham Forest and their fans but he stopped playing in his early 30s before going into business with Barcelona, PSG, Liverpool and Manchester United
The 36-year-old might have left the Reds in 2014, but he stayed in the city and still plays on the Forest Recreation Ground either side of running a business which sees him work with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United.
"We live and die together. Fans would love to be in my position to defend the honour of the club so I had to do my best. I think we had a good connection because I was always honest." Unaware of Forest's European Cup pedigree and fearful the style of football below the Premier League would not suit him, he wanted to play in France's Ligue 1 instead initially, with a move to Lille falling through when the manager, Claude Puel, left.
"I saw the facilities of the club and they were impressive though, so I went back to France and I asked let's say 20 people about joining. "At the time in France we didn't have many foreign players so I'm not sure how we would have acted with players coming who didn't speak the language," he said. "Where I'm blessed, the team-mates that I had they always welcomed me and tried to help me.
"Robbie Savage, people had issues with him. Everybody hated Kris Commons because he signed for Derby. The atmosphere was crazy. Interviewees have included Frank Clark, Paul Hart, Sean O'Driscoll, Ian Storey-Moore, Paul Anderson and Nathan Tyson, while Reds legend Garry Birtles is a regular guest. Moussi, like so many of his teammates, loved Davies. For him, the Scot was a mentor and a master man manager as Forest twice made the play-off semi-finals but came up short each time.
"He didn't have to motivate me. He told me what he needed from me and that was it. When we lost to Swansea in the second leg after the game I went to the fans and I didn't know what to say. I could see people crying. For Moussi, like so many others, Al Hasawi was a well meaning mistake magnet. Virtually every decision gradually pulled in negative consequences despite admirable financial backing. The money was not the point though for Moussi as Al Hasawi fostered player power which damaged the team spirit he valued so much.
"As much as I didn't wanted to leave, I needed a change. The money wasn't a big issue. Fawaz signed players and he gave them more than the money. He gave them the power to speak directly with him."The mentality in the Middle East was potentially different. It was like there was no hierarchy because players could speak with Fawaz directly rather than going to the manager. We had some players who could do that but others had to go through the manager.
"It was bizarre. In my mind I'd not wanted to play for another Championship team and playing against Forest, after that I felt I needed to go away. "I don't want people to give me money and expect something different. If we shake hands, then I don't need the money to give 200 percent because I've given my word. That is worth more to me than money.Moussi's desire to get away took him to Finland and HJK Helsinki but the move did little to reignite his footballing spark.
