Those looking to get a head start on trick-or-treating as well as learn more about services and organizations in Aurora can visit the fourth annual drive-thru Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Celebration to be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday by the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry.
The event will be held in the parking lot at Splash Country Water Park at 195 S. Barnes Road in Aurora. More than 20 exhibitors will be on hand giving out candy as well as providing information about their groups, organizers said. Organizations including the Aurora Lions Club, Paramount Arts Center, Kiwanis Club of Aurora, Waubonsee Community College and the Aurora Women’s Club are set to take part in the event.
“Rush Copley is going to be there with their truck and they can hand out a lot of their programming information to people. In two hours, they’re going to reach over 200 families and it’s an easy way to do it.” Giveaways at the event will include new books for children of different reading levels. Most of the participating groups will be handing out candy, and some will be handing out outreach items.
