Driver arrested on suspicion of DUI involving marijuana after pedestrian hit, critically injured [Breaking]
The man was driving a 2006 BMW X3 north in the fast lane of Smythe Avenue near Avenida de la Madrid when he hit a woman walking in a marked crosswalk shortly after 9:15 p.m, San Diego police said.
The victim — a woman who police said was thought to be between 20 and 25 years old — suffered a brain bleed and was reported to be in critical condition.Police evaluated the driver and arrested him on suspicion of DUI involving marijuana. No witnesses or cameras were available to “determine party at fault,” police said.
