Drug supply issues in North Ayrshire have seen an increase of more than 15 per cent on the five-year average.
Charges are up 15.4 per cent on the five-year average for supplying drugs. Cannabis cultivations have remained the same for the five-year average, but are up almost 31 per cent on last year.
“The positive increase in supply charges is welcomed and is reflective of the significant work being undertaken within North Ayrshire by our Local Intelligence officers, Intelligence Development Unit and our Proactive Policing team. Among incidents from the reporting period were in March, when officers from North Ayrshire Locality Policing Team searched a property in Irvine.
