The council has distanced itself from the decision made by a Perthshire pub to call off its annual folk music festival.
The Kirkstyle Inn cancelled its summer music mini-festival at short notice on Friday, halting plans for an influx of visitors to Dunning over the weekend.
“Due to the amount of pre-festival complaints to us, the Dunning Community Council, and Perth and Kinross Council we have been advised not to proceed with the music festival in any shape or form.The post by owner Jamie Harrison, who has had the Kirkstyle since 2016, explained further: “NO MUSIC indoors or outdoors will be at the Kirkstyle this weekend.“This was not an easy decision by any means.
“We have worked so hard in the past months to bring the village of Dunning and it’s surrounds a well-orchestrated, safe and happy event. “Our hands are tied. We apologise to all the folk in the village and far afield that had looked forward to this event.“I hope you will in time understand why we can’t hold this year’s Stomp.
