The benefits department has urged those to respond to their letter as they could lose their benefit payments
The Department for Work and Pensions has issued a six-month warning to millions of Brits on benefits as Tax Credits will be terminated from April 2025. Claimants are being urged to switch to Universal Credit within the next six months before their current benefits cease permanently.
Since September, the DWP has been dispatching letters to state pensioners and those on Tax Credits, Income-based JSA, ESA, and ESA with Housing Benefit.Claimants must apply for Universal Credit within three months of receiving the letter or face termination of their benefits. The DWP has cautioned that while three months may seem ample, unforeseen life events can complicate matters, hence the advice to act "straight away".
