Hundreds of thousands of people struggle to live with a mental health condition in the UK. Latest figures show 1.3m people across Britain are claiming Personal Independence Payments as a result of a psychiatric disorder at the end of January.
He warned that if changes are not implemented, PIP spending is projected to rise by over 50% in the next four years, reports the Daily Record. Currently, almost 3.5 million people across Britain are receiving PIP, with 37% of these claims being for psychiatric disorders including mental health conditions.
