The decision to ditch the FIFA licence continues to be vindicated as EA reveals how much money it’s made lately.
EA Sports FC 24 – the Madden franchise has been performing well too In hindsight, the idea that EA’s football games would struggle without the FIFA licence attached to it seems rather laughable. Since its September launch, EA Sports FC 24 has routinely demonstrated that the series doesn’t need anyone else’s branding. Despite a drop in physical sales in the UK, EA Sports FC 24 had a stronger launch than any of the FIFA games and now EA has revealed that it managed to accrue over 14.
That’s not that surprising considering it sold poorly enough for developer Ascendant Studios to lay off nearly half its staff just days after it came out.
