The UK Health and Security Agency (UKHSA) has said the extreme June heat could pose a risk to people who are vulnerable
A yellow warning for potential hot weather has been issued as temperatures are expected to reach 30C for the first time this year. The next few days will bring some of the hottest temperatures so far in 2024, according to weather agencies, which have warned the heat could have serious effects on some people.
The severe heat warning has been issued for most English regions from Monday, June 24, with eight impacted from 8am in the morning, including the East Midlands.Yellow warnings, issued in tandem with the Met Office, specify that, while the heat is "unlikely to impact most people", those with multiple health conditions and taking medications may struggle to cope.
