The violent incident occurred around 7.30pm yesterday at a beach club restaurant called Balneario Illetas. It was described as 'extremely violent' by the local council
Eight Brits on a stag do have been arrested following a mass brawl at a restaurant in Majorca. The fight reportedly kicked off around 7.30pm on Wednesday at the beach club eatery, Balneario Illetas.
A waiter was injured after being struck in the head and two coppers were also hurt, with their medical evaluation pending. The incident occurred when a group of English tourists, who were on a stag do, had travelled to Illetas from Palma, as some of them were staying at a local hotel. Two off-duty Civil Guards were the first to intervene. In total, a Civil Guard patrol and six local Calvia Town Hall-employed police were mobilised, reports the Mirror.
Police sources said they had rarely witnessed such a violent reaction from detainees who confronted the officers and attempted to escape when they realised they were cornered, saying: "The eight people arrested have been held in police cells overnight. Seven restaurant customers and sunbathers have already pressed charges against the violent tourists."
