A 39-year-old woman was arrested and charged with murdering Richard Hendrix inside his motor home in El Sobrante.
MARTINEZ — A Mendocino County woman has been arrested and charged with murdering a 69-year-old man inside of his motor home in El Sobrante, a crime that wasn’t discovered for roughly a week until the victim was reported missing.
Hendrix was found dead last April 13 in his motor home, parked on the 400 block of Appian Way in El Sobrante. His killer beat him in the head with a blunt object, knocking him unconscious, then strangled him with zip ties and left them affixed to his throat.until a week later when his landlord called police reporting Hendrix had been missing for several days. Hendrix’s body had random items from inside the motor home stacked on top of it, authorities said.
Police say Dungan and another man purchased zip ties from a local hardware store in late March, and that DNA tests showed Dungan had touched the zip ties found on Hendrix’s neck. Days after the killing, someone attempted to withdraw money from Hendrix’s bank account but was unsuccessful.
