Emmerdale legend Elizabeth Estensen's life from forgotten Corrie role to rarely seen husband
Elizabeth Estensen played the role of Diane Sugden on the ITV soap Emmerdale for 22 years. However, in October 2021, the legendary actress said goodbye to her fiery character as she retired from acting.
While speaking about Diane threatening Chrissie with a gun, the actress asked hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby if her character was lying about being scared. She was actually referenced recently when her granddaughter Emma Brooker learned Steve McDonald was her real dad. The actress has been married to her husband, Philip Allen, since May 1983 and the couple have one son together called James.
