Elizabeth Holmes has given a series of bizarre interviews to the NYT as she delays starting her 11-year prison sentence
, published days after she managed to delay the start of her 11-year prison sentence.
Among other apparently sympathetic details, Holmes told the Times she has spent the past year volunteering for a rape crisis hotline doing 12-hour shifts. Holmes hasn't spoken to the media since 2016, and has seemingly used this opportunity variously to present herself as more human, to defend her record, and to continue to pitch herself as a future health-tech innovator.
On Theranos, she said:"I made so many mistakes and there was so much I didn't know and understand, and I feel like when you do it wrong, it's like you really internalize it in a deep way."
