About 1 p.m., authorities were conducting an investigation near U.S. Highway 287 and Ennis Parkway, on the west side of Ennis, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The office said the investigation is ongoing with an active search for a suspect.No additional details were immediately available about the suspect’s identity or the investigation.
