Hampton Ray with FDOT said crews were called out early Thursday morning after semi-truck carrying a forklift hit the concrete barriers under the overpass at I-95 South and Hendricks Avenue. Officials immediately started assessing the damages.“As the situation unfolds we’re going to need to communicate directly with contractors to make permanent repairs,” said Ray. Crews will need to inspect the bridge and figure out how many materials are needed before actual repairs can get underway.
FDOT said to expect traffic flow changes at Hendricks until further notice. However, Ray said he doesn’t see any long-term damages to I-95. Videos showed chunks of concrete taken out of the overpass near the Fuller Warren Bridge. Based on the procedures, construction could impact the area for days.DRIVERS: Expect delays due to emergency repairs/inspection on I-95 SB at Hendricks Ave. in San Marco.
