BREAKING: Emergency services swoop in Gorton following reports of a disturbance and a serious assault
The emergency services were tonight responding to reports of a serious assault in Gorton. Residents reported how one woman was 'glassed' and a man was seen waving a knife in the street.
Darras Road remained closed tonight as a significant police operation was underway and large section of the road was cordoned off. Officers were focussing their attention on one particular house. Pictures from the scene showed a significant police presence inside the police cordon. A blood spattered slipper was in the front garden of one home and shards of glass in the road. Residents described how one casualty was taken away to hospital.
