Matthew Wolfenden, 43, has played David Metcalfe in Emmerdale since 2006. The acting star is married to former Emmerdale fave Charley Webb who quit her role as Debbie Dingle back in 2019 - despite a brief return in 2021.

ITV has yet to comment on Matthew’s reported Emmerdale exit. In 2021, Matthew and his co-star Isabel Hodgins were reportedly caught up in a race row in 2021 while filming the soap.
