The actor, who plays Tom King, will leave later this year after filming his final scenes, according to insiders.
In a shocking revelation, it's come to light that James Chase will reportedly be waving goodbye to Emmerdale in some "dramatic scenes".
An anonymous source spilt the beans to The Sun, affirming: "It's the right time to leave. James has loved his time on the show playing such a powerful story but the truth is that characters like Tom have a shelf life for a reason. She also emphasised how essential Refuge's assistance was to them during their research for this plotline, saying: "The assistance the charity Refuge has given us whilst researching this storyline has been enormously helpful in bringing this incredibly important storyline to our screens."
To add insult to injury, Tom stopped Belle from telling any of her family about their "getaway" and even hid her mobile phone to prevent her from contacting anyone. Luckily, Belle's relative Charity has been highly suspicious of Tom's actions and upon learning about Belle's sudden departure, she decided to investigate further in Tuesday's episode alongside Cain. They arrived at the ransacked cottage in Wales, finding it empty.
