Residents at housing association properties in rural South Lanarkshire are set to see their energy bills halve following refurbishment work to fit new carbon-cutting heating systems.
The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.The work by energy services company Union Technical included replacing the existing electric heating systems with air source heat pumps in the houses and smarter upgraded systems in the flats which will interact with the newly-installed solar panels.
It was the second Smarter Homes project carried out by the two organisations, following a similar project last year in the nearby villages of Rigside and Kirkmuirhill.
