Follow Lee Carsley's first news conference as England's interim manager before Saturday's game against the Republic of Ireland.
Carsley: "I'm really proud of the career I had with Ireland. The memories will go a long way. I made some great friends. But my coaching career took me to a path that has taken me to different jobs in different places."
"I'm not sure. We've spoken about potentially what we could come up against. We watched a few recent Jamaica games to see how they could play. They have some good players. It's important we approach the game with respect. We expect it to be energetic, high tempo. They'll be well coached and motivated."
On Irish friends: "They're really supportive and proud of the position I've got to. It's something I'm proud of." "I believe we're in a strong position. They were in a low position when Gareth Southgate took over. It's totally different now. They're used to competing. Standards are so high. Hopefully they can go that one step further. That last push is the hardest thing."But the boss has come in to give us new ideas. There is always room for improvement. Now it is about trying to implement that.
Gareth was a big part of my career and all we can say is thankyou and we look forward to another chapter.
