What could plans for massive solar farms mean for the environment? 🌞
Plans to potentially develop the world’s largest Battery Energy Storage Facility in Lincolnshire have raised alarm among villagers.
They say the development is set to be the largest Solar Farm project in Europe, with a BESS near Willingham by Stow potentially becoming the largest in the world. The National Fire Chiefs Council has also called for battery storage developers to engage with local fire and rescue services. A spokesman said: “BESS is crucial to achieving energy security whilst transitioning to green, renewable power. It improves grid stability and reliability, balancing supply and demand."
