Escape to the Country presenter Alistair Appleton was tasked with helping one couple find their dream home on the BBC show
Escape to the Country's Alistair Appleton found himself a tad red-faced during Friday's episode of the popular BBC show.
Before showing them the second potential property, Alistair decided to take them on a scenic detour. They visited the quaint village of Doveridge, where Alistair introduced them to a local legend - a massive yew tree. She humorously commented on the tree's worn appearance: "No wonder it's looking a bit worse for wear!"Alistair chuckled and explained: "It's interesting that yews don't ever die really. They die in the centre and then they kind of keep spreading out. So you can't really date it because it hasn't got the rings to date."When they confessed to not knowing, he informed them: "Robin Hood and Maid Marian", reports Wales Online.
