Essential workers in Minnesota could receive an extra financial bonus for their service during the pandemic.
An estimated 667,000 Minnesota workers in select professions deemed"essential" by the state government during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic can apply for bonuses starting on Wednesday. These bonuses, passed by a divided legislature in April, could provide workers with bonuses between $750 and $1,500.
Some restrictions may apply, according to the website. The bonuses will only be provided to those under certain economic brackets. Workers who engaged directly with COVID-19 patients are eligible if they had an adjusted gross income of below $350,000 as a married couple filing jointly or $175,000 for single filers.
Citizens are also ineligible if they received more than 20 weeks of unemployment benefits in that same window.Minnesotan citizens can apply at https://frontlinepay.mn.gov/ and have until July 22 to apply. Applicants should expect to receive a $750 check, but that payment could increase up to $1,500 depending on how many people apply for the checks.
