The Europa League is set to adopt a completely new format for the 2024/25 season, following in the footsteps of the Champions League.
Here's everything you need to know about how the revamped Europa League draw will operate via the Mirror. To dispel any allegations of draw-rigging, UEFA has assured that the automated system will be independently monitored on a regular basis. Teams will be divided into four pots. For instance, when a team from pot one is manually drawn, the technology will select eight opponents, two from each pot.Each team will play against one side from each pot at home and one away.
Teams finishing between ninth and 24th place will compete in a two-legged playoff to secure a place in the last 16. Clubs ranking from 25th to 36th will be eliminated from the competition.
