The owners of some Premier League clubs have reportedly voiced their concerns over 777 Partners' proposed takeover of Everton.
The deal would see Moshiri part with his 94.1% Everton shareholding and add to 777's growing portfolio of professional football clubs which spans from Germany, with Hertha Berlin, Belgium's Standard Liege as well as Serie A outfit Genoa. MSP Sports Capital were close to purchasing a percentage stake of around 25% through a preferential share structure. However the New York-based investment firm withdrew from the negotiations table due to the "stumbling block being opposition from one of Everton’s existing lenders, Rights and Media Funding Limited," The Athletic reported in September.
