The right-hander has been sidelined since Sept. 12 with a teres major strain and is scheduled to start for the“I have no idea what I will have — I might have a lot, I might have a little,” Scherzer said, via. “You tell me what the magic formula is for 60-ish pitches in a simulated game translated to a playoff start. Scherzer was initially expected to sit out for two months for the injury but his rehab went well, and he most recently threw 69 pitches in a simulated game on Saturday.The Mets traded Scherzer to Texas the weekend before this year’s trade deadline when the veteran starter had a 4.01 ERA in 19 starts.
