Blackpool Pleasure Beach season launch and the exciting new things to look forward to in 2023
The ride has been shut since 2019 to undergo an extensive refurbishment, but delays caused by a range of unprecedented issues meant the reopening date was continuously pushed back. However, the £4m revamp, which saw parts shipped in from all over Europe, is now complete and testing is currently underway.Valhalla will open for 'technical rehearsals' in early April.
June is Paw Patrol month, while Spongebob month arrives in July for the first time, before making way for the Summer of Slime in August.The classic wooden coaster celebrates its centenary in 2023, with a special celebratory event planned for August.
Today, it can carry 840 riders per hour and the ride lasts an impressive three minutes. In addition to the Big Dipper blowing out candles for its milestone birthday, the Passage de Terror scarewalk marks its 20th year in 2023.
