The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions and ramp closures on Interstate 40 near Perkins Valley Road though Holbrook beginning Monday, Sept. 19:
East- and westbound I-40 will be intermittently reduced to one lane in each direction daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays from Sept. 19, through Oct. 12.Drivers should be prepared to slow down when approaching the work zone.RAMP CLOSURE SCHEDULEHopi Drive: eastbound on- and off-ramps from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.North Navajo Boulevard: eastbound on- and off-ramps from 6 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 26.Navajo Boulevard/SR 77: westbound on- and off-ramps from 6 a.m.
As part of the $6.5 million project, crews are removing the existing top layer of pavement and replacing it with a new asphalt overlay, which is designed to protect the underlying pavement structure.
