Watford shoppers have been warned over unpredictable falling branches as two High Street trees are set for “significant work”.
On Sunday , Watford Borough Council officers will be working on the “large” trees north of the Exchange Road flyover and opposite the restaurant Il Pellegrino and the British Heart Foundation Home Store. The council said that, because of the size and height of the trees, “the way branches may fall cannot be predicted”.Work is therefore set to be carried out on Sunday when there will be fewer shoppers out in The Parade.
“Thank you for your cooperation and understanding,” the council added, in a post to its social media pages.According to the Watford Borough Council website, it carries out works to trees for three reasons. For public safety and to prevent damage to vehicles, property or people, if a tree blocks street lights, and where pruning will benefit the tree or surrounding environment. We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
