A lawsuit has been filed by the families of 5 of those killed in a FedEx Indianapolis shooting.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Relatives of five of the eight people who were shot and killed last year at an Indianapolis FedEx warehouse by a former employee sued the shipping giant and a security company on Monday, accusing them of negligence and failing to ensure that the workplace was safe.

The suit contends that the defendants"knew or should have known of Hole's potentially violent and dangerous propensities, which were reasonably likely to result in injuries to himself and others."FedEx said in a statement that it was aware of the lawsuit and was reviewing the allegations. The company added that it continues"to mourn the loss of our team members in the senseless tragedy.

The families of the three other people killed - Matthew R Alexander, 32; Samaria Blackwell, 19; and Jaswinder Singh, 68 - are not involved in the suit.
