The family of a Dallas man who died weeks after he was tased and seriously injured while running from Frisco police questions the department’s version of what happened and says the 26-year-old did not pose a threat to officers., more than two weeks after an encounter with Frisco police. Officers were called about 3:15 p.m. on Sept. 14 to a car dealership in the 9600 block of State Highway 121 after a complaint Hicks tried to use a fake ID to buy a vehicle.last month announcing his death.

Nehemiah Hicks said he stayed with his brother for three days in the hospital, where the 26-year-old, father of one was in a coma with brain trauma. Nehemiah Hicks questioned the narrative released by police, saying his brother was already unconscious when officers restrained him. Nehemiah Hicks described his brother as well-loved, outgoing and full of personality. He was “an outstanding dad … the best dad he could be,” his brother said.
