Family's heartbreak after death of beloved dad who is 'missed beyond words'
A young dad who was adored by his family died after turning to drugs to cope with anxiety and depression, and inquest has heard.
The 29-year-old was tragically found dead at his home in Dearham, Maryport, in March of this year. In a heartbreaking tribute, his family said: “Jordan is loved and missed beyonds words can ever possibly describe and his mum will forever have an empty place in her heart until they meet again.”The inquest heard that Jordan was born in Maryport and was shy as a child, preferring the home life where he could enjoy watching Batman snuggled up on the couch.
This led to him frequently changing jobs as he overly worried about small details amid a fear of letting people down. The inquest heard he had struggled with anxiety and depression from a young age and turned to cannabis to cope with these feelings. A spell in rehabilitation helped him become clean of drug use and his family believed the birth of his son in 2019 and relationship with the child’s mum was a turning point. A statement from Ms Mattison read to the court said: “We thought this was the answer and he tried to sort himself out for a long time.”
