Amy Dowden has let fans in to her emotional cancer journey with a BBC One documentary and viewers admit they are getting emotional just minutes into the hour-long show
Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has opened up about her cancer experience in a raw and honest documentary on BBC One and has reduced fans to tears.
Fans took to social media getting emotional over the documentary. One even posted just minutes into the documentary: “Four minutes in, and already I'm in awe of #AmyDowden. Her courage and positivity is beyond belief. Keep fighting and dancing our Welsh Queen. We've got you.” A third penned: “Oh my lord #AmyDowden is such an inspiration! I've spent the first 14 mins of this program sobbing, yet she's incredibly strong!”
Strictly’s Dianne Buswell also visits Amy following her mastectomy. And in one scene, Amy admitted she didn’t look at her breast after her mastectomy for “two weeks” before showing Dianne her newly constructed breast. Amy decided to freeze her eggs prior to chemotherapy treatment, which "destroys a lot of cells" in the body. "Your eggs, your ovaries, everything can be damaged and not necessarily reboot again. Since we got married, the question we're asked the most is, 'When are you going to have kids? ' and my body can't go through that right now."
