If you listen very carefully today, you may just hear the exhale of breath as Daniel Farke welcomes Leeds United’s players back to Thorp Arch. As the manager counts them in, one by one, he will feel that sigh of relief once he knows they have come through the break unscathed.
Ethan Ampadu, Daniel James and Joe Rodon had the luxury of playing their last Wales game on Sunday night. After recovering on Monday, they are all likely to have played a bigger part in training yesterday and perhaps bigger still today, depending on when Farke likes to put on his toughest session of the week.Diogo Monteiro is also likely to have returned on Monday, while Charlie Cresswell, who scored for England under-21s on Monday evening, should have returned yesterday.
Central midfield is perhaps where Farke will hold his breath for the longest. While Ampadu finished up with Wales three days ago, Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev were all in action yesterday.
