Both Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara picked up much needed game time with their respective nations over the international break
Daniel Farke will have been delighted to see new signings Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara secure much-needed game time while away on international duty. Ordinarily Farke could have been forgiven for watching his Leeds United players in international action through his fingers in the hope they return to Thorp Arch unscathed.
Gruev had picked up just three competitive minutes for Werder Bremen, stepping off the bench late to take on Freiburg, while Kamara hadn’t been involved at all for Rangers. To Farke’s delight, though, both men have been heavily involved for their respective nations over the last week, ensuring they’ll return to Thorp Arch in a position to kick on as the German looks to make rapid progress.
The pair will now return to Leeds to link up with their new teammates and begin preparing for Sunday’s clash with Millwall and Farke will be feeling a lot better about their chances of making an impact at The Den. The head coach might not be quite so content about Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon’s involvement with the Wales national team tonight, though.
The Leeds boss will also have his eyes on Italy’s clash with Ukraine on Tuesday night with Wilfried Gnonto in contention for that one.
