When officers arrived at the scene, they located three male victims. Jacquis Irby, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. A 15-year-old was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, and another 15-year-old sustained a minor gunshot wound.
According to the school, the suspects fled north toward the campus after the shooting. Police say the two offenders that fled on foot eventually drove away in a vehicle.The campus of Northwestern University has been put on lockdown after a shooting was reported at a nearby Evanston beach on Wednesday night.Police say the shooting does not appear to be a random act.Due to the shooting investigation, Sheridan Road was closed from Davis Street to Clark Street.
