JUST IN: The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office announced Monday that Murtadah Mohammad had been arrested on one count of second-degree murder in his son's death. He was already in jail on charges related to the abuse of the child.

Authorities have not released the child's name, but the boy's mother has previously identified him to NBC10 Boston as Jaevion Riley.Sign up for NECN newsletters. Mohammad was arrested immediately after the incident and charged with various offenses arising from the alleged abuse of his son, including one count of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of falsifying physical evidence and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
"It is absolutely gruesome, it is horrific, and it is sickening to look at. It makes me physically ill looking at my own son because of what this man did to him," she said at the time.
