Footage shared by the FBI shows that at least five suspects were involved in the kidnapping of Monica de Leon Barba last November.
minutes before she was kidnapped while walking home from work with her dog Nov. 29, 2022. Barba appears to be confronted by several suspects before being forced inside a silver Volkswagen Jetta. The suspects are seen driving away in three different vehicles, including the Jetta, a gray Dodge Charger and a white Chevrolet Suburban, while her dog runs loose in the street.
The videos reveal that at least five suspects were involved in the kidnapping, the FBI said in a news release. Those suspects include a male in dark clothing, a male in a white shirt and jeans, a male in dark clothing in the backseat of the white Suburban, a male in a dark shirt who they believe is the driver of the gray Dodge Charger, and an unseen suspect they presume was the driver of the white Suburban.
The suspects drove away in three different vehicles, including a silver Volkswagen Jetta, a gray Dodge Charger and a white Chevrolet Suburban, the FBI said.KTVU last month. “We believe she is still being held hostage. The hostage takers have been in contact with her family and the FBI is working very close with her family and with authorities in Mexico to bring her home safely.”
Barba, a U.S. citizen, was born in Jalisco, and the FBI’s San Francisco Field Office told SFGATE last month that she had been spending most of her time there since June 2022. She is 5-foot-7, weighs 240 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes, according to the FBI’sThe surveillance footage shows Barba was wearing black clothes at the time of her reported disappearance. Her dog was later safely located and recovered by a family member.
