Federal investigators called for new national-safety standards for seats and seat belts in limousines as they continue their probe into an upstate New York crash that killed 20 people.
The National Transportation Safety Board said some of the 17 passengers in the limousine might have survived the October 2018 crash outside Albany if they had been wearing combination lap-shoulder seat belts and if the limousine’s seats had been properly installed.
